The transfer deadline day has been known to be one that comes with shock and surprise signings, especially in the English Premier League. The summer transfer window closed for clubs in the English Premier League today, 8th of August, however, the usual drama that has been attached to such days did not disappoint as shock moves were secured.
Most shocking of such moves is the transfer of long time Chelsea player, David Luiz to London rivals Arsenal. It had been mooted that David Luiz was unhappy at Chelsea leading to him refusing to report for training on Wednesday in order to force a move away from the club, he eventually got his move to Arsenal.
Luiz had foreseen that he wouldn't be a part of Frank Lampard's regular starting eleven with Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen set to start against Manchester United in the opening fixture of the new season, the return of Antonio rudiger from injury will also push Liuz down the pecking order. One would have thought that Luiz would have stayed to complete his new two years contract signed in May before he leaves Chelsea, however the manner in which he forced his transfer from the club may dent his reputation among Chelsea loyalists.
